Our Story
It was 2009, when three Italian friends founded 54 Mint. They not only wanted to work together, but they wanted to bring authentic Italian cuisine to San Francisco.
It wasn’t long until the three friends brought on one more, Gianluca Legrottaglie, a lover of wine, good food, great friends and the simple act of breaking bread together. To him, that is life and that ethos that passion can be found in every aspect of 54 Mint to this day.
In 2011, Gianluca brought a young, but incredibly talented, Roman chef to the team – Mattia Marcelli. Self-taught by his grandmother Mattia brought his skills and his love of Italian cuisine to San Francisco and alongside the impeccable culinary staff made 54 Mint ‘THE Roman Restaurant’ of the West Coast.
Now we are here in present day and our story has only just begun. Gianluca is the sole proprietor and operator of 54 Mint and he continues to be supported by a strong team of Italians, led by Chef Marcelli and General Manager, Jacopo Rosito. Where will we go next?
